The Art Fund is a charity set up to allow all people to enjoy works of art that would otherwise have been lost. Established in 1903, close to 900,000 art works have been retrieved, thanks to the funds of 80,000 members. These people joined the Art Fund because they are lovers of art, but as a membership benefit they get admission to a number of galleries and museums all over the United Kingdom at a substantially reduced rate or even free.

So, what exactly do you get for your membership?

You have free admission to 200 galleries, museums, historic houses and castles throughout the United Kingdom. Your free entry gets you access to National Trust and English Heritage properties and places like The Courtauld Gallery and Kensington palace.

Added to this, you can have half price admission to some of the best museums and galleries, such as the Natural History Museum, Tate Modern and Tate Britain, the British Museum and the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh. 50% off admission still applies, even if you qualify for concessionary rates.

As a member of the Art Fund, you will also qualify for many more special offers, such as special rates in quality hotels, discounts on tickets to live shows and some extra benefits like special discounts at museum cafes and restaurants in London. Of particular interest to our readers could be 2 for 1 entry to some of the best art fairs in the UK – Art London, Brighton Art Fair, Frieze Art Fair in Regent’s park.

You can also take advantage of holidays and cultural tours and cruises specially arranged just for you as a member. And there’s also a beautiful magazine, Art Quarterly, as a subscription. Members receive this magazine at no extra cost.
