First National Collective Exhibition on 19th October 2009

Do you have the desire to own beautiful works of art, without the capital to fund your wish? Then the Collective may be just what you have been looking for!
The Collective has been in operation for over five years now. Membership allows people to share ownership and enjoyment of fantastic pieces of contemporary art, in their own homes. Traditionally, these artworks would have only been accessible to the wealthiest collectors. With the Collective, groups of art lovers can band together to buy art in a more affordable way. Imagine the thrill of viewing an outstanding artwork – in your own home!
The Collective has been, until now, limited to a founding group in London. The time has come to expand the horizons of the Collective and as such, new members are being sought. At present, groups are being established in Bristol, Birmingham and Cambridge. Now is the time to join the Collective and establish your own buying group, no matter where you are in the country.
The Collective aims to become a national web-based network that has the ability to support its membership with advice, information and links. It is also envisaged that this increased network will create a system whereby exchanges can be made, together with the organisation of joint events and exhibitions. The national supporting network will be established in the near future.
The Collective has a number of aims. These are:
- to provide a more socially inclusive environment for contemporary art through the establishment of domestic collection.
- to provide all people with exposure to contemporary art, through visiting exhibitions, speaking with artists and actually living with the art in their own homes.
- creating a link between artists, new audiences and the market.
- increasing the number and diversity of collectors of contemporary art.
- promote the support of new contemporary artists and curators.
The Collective is planning the first national Collective Exhibition on Friday 16th October 2009 in Bristol, at the Tobacco Factory, event not to be missed!
