The sixth ZOO Art Fair will take place in a new location in the East End from 16th to 19th October, 2009. New venue is located between some of the best contemporary art galleries and museums in London, and consists of three buildings that date from 1875 to 2003. More than 50 contemporary arts organisations will be involved through a series of exhibitions, solo sows and stand presentations.
There are four significant exhibitions curated by FormContent, LUX, Studio Voltaire and Rob Tufnell. And one more time, there will be solo shows by last year’s winners of the Champagne Perrier-Jouët Prize – Scoli Acosta, and John Jones Art on Paper Award -Clunie Reid.
In addition to this, 25 stand presentations will be on display from under 6 years old commercial and non-commercial organisations, and individual works by 14 artists in Solo Work section. A new section of up to 10 booths dedicated to artists’ limited editions and multiples, will be presented by organisations such as Whitechapel Gallery, ICA, Chisenhale Gallery and 176 / Zabludowicz Collection.
To celebrate this move East, Zoo 2009 will produce an East End Map, highlighting over 60 contemporary art organisations within a 2 mile distance of Zoo 2009. All types of art organisations will be represented, emerging and established, public and private, commercial and non-commercial, and this will offer visitors a unique insight into the richness of this Europe’s largest cultural quarter.
